About

The Mid-West Bio District pilot project is developing Ireland's first bio-district in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Farmer walking through fields

This project aims to join actors along the organic supply chain, in new and unique connections. The unique landscapes of Ireland’s mid-west region are home to many organic farmers covering a vast array of organic produce. The region is home to the cities of Galway and Limerick and some of the country’s largest universities, hospitals, and some of the country’s most iconic hotels, restaurants and organic food retailers. The counties of Clare, Tipperary, Limerick and Galway combine this region to include an ever-expanding pool of organic farmers and growers and to an ever-increasing population of organic consumers.
